David Roberts is one of the world’s top experts on technology disruption, innovation, and exponential leadership. He is an M.I.T. Computer Scientist & Engineer, and majored in Artificial Intelligence and Bio-Computer Engineering where he was also a Distinguished Graduate and holds an MBA from Harvard Business School. He is an award winning CEO and serial entrepreneur, and has started ventures with over $100 million dollars of investment.
Named one of 10 Women to Watch in Tech in 2013 by Inc. Magazine, Dr. Vivienne Ming is a theoretical neuroscientist, technologist and entrepreneur. She co-founded Socos, where machine learning and cognitive neuroscience combine to maximize students’ life outcomes. She speaks on her AI-driven research into the future of work, education, inclusion & gender in business, technology & society, and augmented intelligence.
Ramez Naam is a computer scientist, futurist, and award-winning author. Ramez spent 13 years at Microsoft, where he led teams developing early versions of Microsoft Outlook, Internet Explorer, and the Bing search engine. His career has focused on bringing advanced collaboration, communication, and information retrieval capabilities to roughly one billion people around the world.
Dr. Divya Chander
Dr. Chander is a physician and neuroscientist who trained at Harvard, UCSD, UCSF, and the Salk Institute. She has been on the Anesthesiology Faculty at Stanford University since 2008 and Neuromedicine Faculty at Singularity University since 2010. She is currently working on applications of neural wearable devices to crossover consumer and medical markets.
Dimitri Papalexopoulos is CEO of Titan Cement Company. He is a member of the European Roundtable of Industrialists (ERT) and sits on the Boards of the Hellenic Federation of Enterprises (SEV), the Foundation for Economic and Industrial Research (IOBE), the Hellenic Foundation for European and Foreign Policy (ELIAMEP) and Endeavor Greece. He attended Singularity University in 2014, as part of an ongoing (and hopefully not futile) effort to remain relevant in a changing world.
Amin is the CEO of T Labs. He has founded for-profit and social impact organizations in a range of domains including: artificial intelligence, peer to peer lending, bitcoin, human rights, international development, carbon offsetting, and solar energy.
Jody is the Director of Design, where she provides design and innovation direction for corporate, startup and field impact teams. She employs a radical approach to Human Centered Design to create exponential solutions to the world’s toughest problems. She also speaks about Augmented and Virtual Reality for SU.
Jaya Baloo the CISO of KPN Telecom in the Netherlands. She is recognized in 2017 as one of the top 100 CISO’s globally. Jaya works with an amazing information security team of highly driven specialists. Working in the information security arena for the past 18 years, she has worked mostly for global telecommunications companies such as Verizon and France Telecom.
Carlo Van De Weijer
Dr. Van de Weijer is director of the Strategic Area Smart Mobility at Eindhoven University of Technology, alongside his work for TomTom. He is chairman and member of the supervisory board of several high-tech companies and start-ups, and advises governments and industries around the world on the future of technology and mobility.
Alex Gladstein is Chief Strategy Officer at the Human Rights Foundation. He has spoken at universities ranging from MIT to Stanford, presented at the European Parliament, and participated in Singularity University events from Berlin to Johannesburg. He has also spoken at a range of blockchain and cryptocurrency events about why bitcoin matters for freedom.
Jyotika Virmani, PhD
Dr. Jyotika Virmani joined XPRIZE in 2014 with more than 10 years of experience in the oceanic and atmospheric sciences, including both research and leadership positions. As Senior Director in Prize Operations, she is the Prize Lead for the next Ocean XPRIZE. Prior to this, she was the Director of Technical Operations for the Wendy Schmidt Ocean Health XPRIZE.
Mr. Hagel’s distinctive expertise involves perspectives on the emergence and evolution of new business models enabled by the Internet, restructuring opportunities created by e-commerce and new approaches to strategy under high uncertainty
Larry Keeley has worked for over three decades as an innovation scientist. He helped pioneer the specialized field of innovation effectiveness, and has taught thousands of Masters and PhD innovators both at Kellogg’s MMM Program and at Chicago’s highly regarded Institute of Design. A globally recognized teacher, speaker, writer, and thinker, he fervently champions the strategic combination of design and business.
Dr. Nikolaos Mavridis
Nikolaos is the founder and director of the Interactive Robots and Media Lab (IRML), and a PhD graduate from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. His research interests include human–robot interaction, and especially verbal and non-verbal communication with robots, artificial intelligence, machine perception, and cognitive systems.
Stefano leads Vodafone’s Internet of Things (IoT) business unit where he is responsible for driving Vodafone’s IoT growth, business strategy, products and profit and loss at a global level, including the Vodafone Automotive business.
Tomas Björkman is an author and social entrepreneur with great interest in science and philosophy. He used to be an investment banker and property developer working all over Europe. He has founded several companies and organizations, including Investment Banking Partners AB. He has also served as chairman of EFG Investment Bank.
Dimitris is an internationally acclaimed, award winning Greek saxophonist, vocalist, researcher, educator and composer. Awarded album of the month from BBC Music magazine and 2nd jazz album of the year from the BBC for “Labyrinth”. This album has become the subject of study at several universities and has been presented at Yale University and at musicological conferences.
Alexis Papahelas is currently the Executive Editor of Kathimerini newspaper. He was named among the most influential Europeans of 2015 by POLITICO magazine. For many years, he worked as a correspondent for Greek media in the United States, and has interviewed some of the most important personalities of our times: from Bill Gates and President Obama to Yasser Arafat. He will be hosting a ‘Fireside Chat’ with Peter Diamandis at the Summit.
